Candle Care

A few notes on caring for your beeswax candles to ensure an even burn and to maximise the burn time: 

  • Before each use, trim the wick to approximately 6mm 
  • When extinguishing the flame, gently dip the wick into the wax as this will minimise smoke, avoid soot stains on your candle and will ensure an even burn next time 
  • Pillar candles should be burnt to the edge* on the initial burn to avoid tunnelling. This is approximately 2-3 hours for our products The Pillar, The Fluted Pillar and The Beehive
  • * you will typically find the round pillars may still have a thin ‘wall’ remaining around the edge as the candle burns down. You should gently ‘hug’ this inwards towards the flame, as it will help with the wax being used as fuel and the candle will continue to burn down evenly 
  • Tapers require a holder as they aren’t designed to stand alone 
  • We advise burning pillar candles on a candle dish as wax will eventually drip down the sides of your candle and onto the surface your candle is sitting on
